Introduction
Meditation is one of the best ways to promote our spiritual growth. When we get deeper into the word of God it brings us closer to him. It also enriches our spiritual life, physical and mental health. According to the Bible, focusing on the Word of God is the core to live in Christ. Meditating on God’s Word will teach us how to apply it in our daily lives. It not only helps us to lead a godly life but it guides us every day.
A Guide during Crisis
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path
When we meditate on God’s word, we allow the word of God to go deeper into our hearts and mind. Once it goes deeper, we will grow stronger in faith. When we continue to meditate on God’s word, it will guide and counsel us during difficult situations. The words which we mediate will be revealed to us by God and those words will comfort us during such critical times. He will give insights on how to solve a problem we are facing and how to handle such situations.
Growth in Character
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart
Meditating on the word of God not only strengthens our faith but it leads to character growth. Whatever flaws we may be having, meditating on the word will help us to fix those flaws. When you focus on God’s Word, you will receive transformation in your heart filled with love, joy, peace, patience, humility and self-control. At the end of the process, we will start to reflect the qualities of Jesus.
God’s Word Leads to Prosperity
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
In the book of Joshua we can see that God appeared before Joshua and instructed to meditate on his word day and night. Moreover, he added that if Joshua listened to his word then he will be successful in all he does. Likewise when we meditate, God’s Word will be part of our
thoughts. When we listen to his voice and obey him, we will see success in everything we do.
